Baseball is a very popular game that was first played in America. Many types of equipment are required to play Baseball like bats, balls, gloves, etc. Among all these, baseball bats can be considered the single most important equipment. Baseball bats are available in different shapes and sizes. Choosing the right baseball bat is of paramount importance because the right choice can results in winning or losing a match. If you have a good bat, then you can swing it in any direction without putting in a lot of effort. You have to keep some factors in mind while choosing a baseball bat -

1. Length - .If you are tall then you should choose a long bat but never choose a bat that is too long. Some times a long bat may be heavy as compared to other bats which may result in the ball being hit in the wrong direction. A small bat also creates problem for the batter and they can not hit the ball properly. So choose a bat according to your height.

2. Weight - This factor is as important as length. It also affects bat swing. If a bat is heavy in weight, then you have to put a lot effort for hitting the ball. If a bat is too light, then also it produces difficulty for the batter. Normally a bat weight should be 10 ounces less than its length (in inches). For example - if a bat is 40 inches in length, then its weight should be near about 30 ounces.

3. Material - Baseball bats are made of 2 materials - Aluminum and wood. Some associations pre-decide which type of bat they will give to their batters. Some times batters take this decision. In the past only wooden bats were preferred by everyone but now a days a new type of bat is also comes in market that is made up of aluminum. Aluminum bats are lighter as compared to the wooden bats and are easier to swing as well.

4. Comfort - This is also an issue while choosing a bat. You should try many bats before choosing the final one.
